LIVE AND KICKING - "Johnny&Mary" by Bryan Ferry and Todd Terje

Bryan Ferry joined Todd Terje on stage for the first time in August 2014 to perform their collaboration 'Johnny & Mary'. Ferry had earlier played with his band on the same stage and joined Terje halfway the Norwegian's set. This is the first time they had performed the song together, and indeed the first time Ferry had sung it since the recording session in 2013.

NEWS WAVE - John Foxx remix Simple Minds' "Blood Diamonds"

Today, Simple Minds release the John Foxx & The Maths remix of their new single 'Blood Diamonds', out via Virgin Records, and we've got an exclusive stream of the track - have a listen above.
Foxx and Benge give the track an almost wholesale analogue synth re-envisioning, as well as adding in a track of his own backing vocals, with Foxx saying of the remix: "I loved Simple Minds from the first moment I heard them because they were a slightly younger generation who had taken up drum machines and synthesisers. And they were unique. The way Jim Kerr plays with words and titles makes him the best internal movie director I've ever come across. With the remix, Benge and I went for deep beep, bleep creep and stun drum with me on backing vox. It was gleeful and glittering and glamorous. Transgression never sounded sweeter!”

The original track comes from Simple Minds' recent greatest hits album Celebrate, with the band touring extensively over the last year. Tonight, they'll be playing London's KOKO as part of the Virgin Records' 40th anniversary celebrations; head to the band's website for tickets.
Foxx, meanwhile, has also had a busy year, releasing Evidence, again, with Benge as John Foxx & The Maths, in February, which featured guest appearances from The Soft Moon and Gazelle Twin among others and is one of our favourite albums of the year so far, as well as putting out EPs with Jori Hulkkonen (including a remix from David Lynch) and the Belbury Circle. OFF THE RECORDS - Gagaism revisited! Three for Lady "Judas": Hurts, Goldfrapp and now Röyksopp

Three for Gaga and Judas for all!
Goldfrapp and Hurts were the first ones to remix Lady Gaga's "Judas" song some weeks ago. More intimate and in slow motion that one by Goldfrapp, more "contro tempo" and didascalic that one by Hurts.
Now even Röyksopp have remixed the pre-last Lady Gaga single...it's the most down to the beat of the trio gone to the Lady's court. Take a listen to the "Röyksopp European Imbecile Remix" below! The track is available to download now in Part 2 of the "Judas (Remixes) EP".

OFF THE RECORDS - Buy or die! Da oggi in vendita il nuovo Cd di remix dei Depeche Mode!

This week sees the release of the career-spanning "Remixes 2: 81-11" compilation. With format choices including a 1-CD, 3-CD, 6-LP vinyl box and digital editions, you have many ways to enjoy the new release from Depeche Mode.
For the US market, select US independent music retailers will be selling the 3-CD edition of "Remixes 2: 81-11" with a very special, very limited 12" single. The 12" (sticker from the front cover on the left) contains two remixes of "Personal Jesus" (Alex Metric Remix and the M.A.N. Remix), as well as not-on-CD remixes of "The Sun And The Rainfall" (Black Light Odyssey's Further Excerpts) and "The Sinner In Me" (SixToes Remix). A full list of independent retailers is available on the Record Store Day web site, but not all of the retailers will be participating. As such, we advise you to call ahead, to make sure that your favorite indie retailer is participating in the event.

Roma (Adnkronos) - Il remix del celebre brano dei Depeche Mode, 'Personal Jesus', entrera' nelle rotazioni radiofoniche venerdi'. Il pezzo anticipera' il nuovo disco della band britannica 'Remixes 2: 81-11', in uscita il 7 giugno. L'album conterra' i remix di alcuni dei piu' noti brani del gruppo synth pop. 'Personal Jesus' e' stato rivisitato da alcuni da artisti quali Tor Hermansen (Stargate), Eric Prydz e Alex Metric. Pubblicato originariamente all'interno dell'album 'Violator' del 1990, gia' coverizzata da Johnny Cash, Marilyn Manson, Tori Amos e Nina Hagen, 'Personal Jesus' tornera' ora in un nuova interpretazione". "Remixare una qualsiasi canzone dei Depeche Mode e' un onore -racconta Tor Hermansen, autore del remix- e' come essere nominato cavaliare. Quando Rihanna mi ha detto di essere una grande fan dei Depeche mode ho dovuto dirle: 'Io ero un fan dei Depeche prima ancora che tu nascessi, bella'. "Remixes 2: 81-11" (il seguito di "Remixes 81-04", album che dal 2004 ha venduto milioni di copie) e' una collezione che ripercorre l'intera carriera dei Depeche Mode, a partire dal debutto nel 1981 con 'Speak And Spell', fino ad arrivare a 'Sounds Of The Universe' nel 2009.
